more classes

Photo Tiles
In this class you will create four tiles using your own photographs. Once you learn the trick to creating these tiles you will be making them over and over for yourself and to give away as unique gifts.
You will need to bring to class 4 Xerox color copies of your photos. You can NOT use copies from table-top printers, you MUST go to a store to get one from an actual Xerox machine. If you include printing on your image, then you need to request that the copy store print IN REVERSE! (Whim So Doodle is very familiar with this kind of printing and offers this service.)
Class will include 4 tiles, gel and matte mediums, foam brushes and felt feet for each tile.
Class fee: $25
Instructor: Stacey Shook, DT Member and Teacher at Whim So Doodle

Chunky UTEE Frame
Create a fun and funky frame using UTEE (Ultra Thick Embossing Enamel) and a Hot Melt Pot. Students will make square tiles using their own patterned paper scraps and a silicone ice cube tray. We will add "creative" rub-ons, Beadz, die cut embellishments and more to our 8x8 frame. This cool technique is easy to reproduce at home and you will love making more tiles that you can use for fashion pins, earrings, necklaces and in many home decor projects. You will be bringing your own papers and ribbon which means your frame will be totally unique and totally YOU! (See sample for paper suggestions...like papers with small patterns, light patterns and appox. 2x2 elements that can be cut from paper like hearts, swirls, etc.)
Class includes: 8x8 wooden frame, full jar of UTEE for each student, assorted collage papers, Beadz, die cuts, specialty adhesives, rub-ons and the use of our Melt Art Tools.
Students need to bring: basic class supplies plus assorted, coordinating scraps of patterned papers, ribbons to match (about 3 styles), coordinating acrylic paint & foam brush.
Optional to bring (only if you already own!): Hot Melt Pot and liner tray, Hot Melt tools, non-stick craft sheet and silicone ice cube trays (Wilton brand).
Fee: $35

classes, vendors and STUFF

So I am rolling right along with getting class descriptions together to post here and to the email list that I created on Outlook. I am very impressed with myself for being able to figure out how to do it. LOL.
Stacey told me where to find the directions and I was actually able to follow them.........yeah.

So start looking for info involving all of the above.

I will post classes and info about them ASAP. REMEMBER that Nancy from Pressing Matters will be on hand to emboss albums over the weekend AND to create personalized gifts for you. We have numerous vendors attending this year's event and a portion of all of their sales come back to the NMSS.
Be prepared to see: PartyLite, Thirty-One Gifts, Initials Inc, Kit-N-Kaboodles kit club, Traveling Vineyard, Premier Designs Jewelry, Whim-so-Doodle, Two Sisters Gourmet, CTMH stamping and more will be added.

Keep checking back and spread the word to those who might not check the blog......they NEED to.
Have a great week,
Jackie

Moving Right Along

Things are seriously moving right along with the crop. I am excited to say that we now have a waiting list and Miami Dawn and I were able to firm up lots of little exciting details this last weekend while we were off at another crop.

It is going to be a fabulous time. My doorbell is ringing daily with some very cool donations, can't wait to start pulling everything out and organizing in the upcoming week or two. Check back for raffle items and auction items SOON.

I got the first draft of the artwork today and let me tell you........it is A-D-O-R-A-B-L-E. If you haven't ordered a shirt, you WILL want one(or two or more). Remember, you do NOT have to attend the crop to order the shirts. Just lmk you want one. I will post the detailed info soon including the artwork once I have approved it.

In the meantime, if you find yourself with xtra time on your hands, I could use some volunteers, esp. with small tasks...........printing some labels, cutting holes in the tops of plastic containers for the raffles, designing some auction sheets and the like. Nothing overly time consuming, but more than I have time to devote at this moment.

I also NEED some volunteers for the theme/decorating committee. Shoot me an email if this is something you might be interested in.

Thanks so much. The excitment is surely building for this year's event. Check back often.

teachers/committees

Good Morning all,
I came home to a nice package yesterday and the pile of stuff is getting higher.
Would anyone like to volunteer to be a committee member? I have several small and some larger tasks that need to be accomplished. Nothing tooooooo major, but I can NOT do this myself(discovered that last year).

I am also trying to line up all of the vendors and teachers. PLEASE email me at scrapnfla@hotmail.com to sign up.

Thanks,
Jax
